What does Pottawattamie provide?
We provide the following basic items:
- Fresh linens upon arrival
- Basic cooking utensils, dishes, and silverware
- Outdoor grills
- Deck furniture or picnic tables
So what should I bring?
We recommend:
- Barbecue equipment, including charcoal
- Favorite cooking utensils
- Towels, both bath and beach--Pottawattamie Resort does not provide
- Toiletries
- Trash bags
- Rainy day activities (for example, board games, cards, etc.)
When are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in time is after 4pm and check-out time is 10am.
Are you located on Lake Michigan or do I need to drive to the beach?
Pottawattamie Resort has 15 acres of land on the shores of Lake Michigan. The beach is accessible by 90 stairs down the bluff face directly from our property. The bluff offers spectacular sunset views.
Can I bring my pet?
No. Pottawattamie Resort has a strict NO PETS policy.
Will our linens be changed daily? Will there be a maid service?
No. Fresh linens and clean accommodations are provided upon arrival.
Are there telephones in the cottages or villas?
We have designed Pottawattamie Resort to be a place for relaxation as well as an escape from the pressures and noise of daily life. Therefore, our accommodations do not have telephones or internet capabilities. Phone messenges may be left at the office.
Do the cottages have air conditioning?
We have air conditioning in all of our units.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards.
Are there laundry facilities on site?
Yes, there are washers/dryers located in the Bluff Villas common area.
Is there a grocery store nearby?
There is a convenience store two miles away on M-63 for quick errands. Larger markets (Meijer, Wallmart) are ten minutes driving time near exit 29 on interterstate 94. One can find a large number of fast food restaurants there as well.
